Maximus Gladiator Tattoo
We probably have all seen the movie “Gladiator” in 2000. This cool and honorable movie show the tale of a true warrior. In the movie, Russell Crowe portrays as General Maximus Decimus Meridius, favorite of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius. The term Maximus (alternative spelling Maximos) is a name formed from the Latin term for “greatest” or “largest.” It is therefore also a common noun, and may refer to any of the following:
- Pontifex Maximus, high priest of the Ancient Roman College of Pontiffs
- Maximus, a lieutenant or governor under Valens in Moesia, immediately prior to the Gothic Wars.
- Maximus of Hispania, Roman usurper (409 – 411)
- Maximus (Bishop of Zaragoza)
The photo of this tattoo is not as good as we want, but the details of the art work is pretty awesome.
